Job summary

Center for Human Identification (CHI) at UNT Health Fort Worth is seeking a Senior Forensic Analyst to conduct forensic DNA analysis on evidence and provide legal testimony. The role may involve interviewing applicants, assigning casework, and other duties at the direction of the Technical Leader.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with four years of related experience or an equivalent combination, plus licensure by the Texas Forensic Science Commission and preferred graduate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience
• Graduate degree in biology, chemistry, or related science
• Six (6) years of experience as a forensic DNA analyst. Coursework in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and statistics

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret serological and DNA results following all Quality Assurance guidelines.
• Generate reports of results obtained.
• Complete technical and administrative review of cases.
• Maintain proficiency by completing two proficiency tests per year.
• Provide court testimony as required.
• Assist with training of new Forensic Analysts and Technologists.
• Oversee work and provide guidance to Forensic Analysts and Technologists.
• Participate in validation projects as needed.
• Assist the Technical Leader in various responsibilities and projects as needed.
• Complete required hours of continuing education and review current scientific literature.
