Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti in New York is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer for the Forensics Practice. You will lead forensic evaluations of building envelopes and architectural systems, diagnose failure mechanisms, and help craft remediation strategies rooted in investigative insight.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with engineers and project partners, and continue developing technical and client-facing capabilities within the forensic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 2+ years in architecture or forensic investigations.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving for envelope performance.
• Excellent communication, reliability and leadership abilities.
• Proactive mentoring of junior staff and workload management.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of forensic evaluations of building envelopes or system issues.
• Develop and review technical reports for clarity and accuracy.
• Provide guidance and day-to-day support for interns and junior architects.
• Observe client interactions to understand scopes, services, and fees.
