Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Compliance-driven Food Safety and Quality Assurance professional to own routine sanitation checks, enforce HACCP and USDA regulations, and track products from start to finish with precision.

You'll evaluate product quality, identify deficiencies, help develop corrective actions, support pre-operational sanitation, temperature monitoring, GMPs, leaker detection, and work cross-functionally to resolve issues and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in meat science, food science, microbiology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Solid knowledge of QA principles, food safety, USDA, HACCP, SSOP; HACCP and SQF certifications preferred.
• Strong technical expertise in quality and regulatory programs; able to read/write required documentation in English.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement: ensure products meet specifications through inspections and checks.
• Food Safety & HACCP Compliance: support HACCP plans, monitor critical control points, verify records and train staff.
• Regulatory & Sanitation Oversight: ensure USDA compliance and conduct sanitation checks; coordinate follow-ups.
• Leadership, Training & Coverage: mentor team members and cover essential tasks when needed.
