Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Illinois (St. Charles) is seeking a Utilities/QA helper to support the Food Safety Quality Assurance Department. You will inspect and document product safety and quality, audit programs, and assist with GMP compliance.

You will monitor cleaning procedures across two buildings, verify ovens and dry chambers, and perform various testing such as temperatures, net weight, residual oxygen, and metal detector verifications. This role requires physical work and accurate math.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Audit plant programs for food safety and quality per policy.
• Conduct product inspections, monitor temperatures, weights, and labels.
• Perform metal detector verifications and oven validation probing.
• Assist with cleaning procedures and GMP compliance in two buildings.
• Communicate breakdowns and corrective actions to Supervisors.
• Handle physical tasks including standing, bending, and walking during shifts.
