Job summary

Walmart Bentonville, AR is seeking a Senior Manager, Food Product Development to shape Walmart’s Private Brand food lines. You will combine food science, culinary insight, customer data, and commercial judgment to develop high-quality retail products at scale.

You’ll lead development from concept through launch, drive cost optimization, and ensure compliance with safety and labeling standards while partnering with Merchandising, Sourcing, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Design, or related field and 4 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related area.

Responsibilities

• Build customer-led product strategies, innovation pipelines, and actionable product briefs.
• Lead formulation, sensory evaluation, specifications, supplier development, testing, and commercialization.
• Integrate food safety, regulatory, labeling, quality, and shelf-life requirements from concept through launch.
• Drive cost optimization, value engineering, and informed technical and commercial trade-offs.
• Partner with Merchandising, Sourcing, and suppliers to deliver differentiated products and business results.
• Leverage customer insights, sales performance, quality data, analytics, and AI to improve products and accelerate development.
• Manage priorities, milestones, risks, and cross-functional decisions while strengthening team capabilities.
