Job summary
CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks a Senior FOIA Analyst to support a large federal agency’s legal mission. You will process FOIA requests, draft correspondence, and coordinate negotiations with requesters, FOIA staff, and contractors, ensuring compliance with exemptions.

Qualifications
- 3 years of experience processing FOIA requests
- Knowledge of FOIA rules and exemptions (b(4), b(5), b(6))
- Experience redacting records with trade secrets and confidential information
- Proficient reading/writing/speaking English
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and analyze new and backlogged FOIA requests
- Intake incoming requests and prepare FOIA folders
- Enter request data in FOIA tracking database
- Draft FOIA correspondence and response letters
- Negotiate with requesters, FOIA staff, sponsors, and contractors
- Liaise with requesters and other agencies regarding multi-agency records
- Coordinate searches for responsive documents and identify duplicates
- Review records for responsiveness and release determinations
- Ensure released materials comply with exemptions
