Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) seeks a Senior FOIA Analyst to process FOIA requests, draft correspondence, and negotiate with requesters. The role supports a federal agency’s legal mission and requires familiarity with FOIA rules and redaction practices.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of FOIA experience, strong English communication, and the ability to obtain a government security clearance, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of FOIA processing experience.
• Knowledge of FOIA exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6).
• Experience redacting records with trade secrets and confidential information.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and analyze new and backlogged FOIA requests.
• Intake incoming requests and prepare FOIA folders.
• Enter request data in the FOIA tracking database.
• Draft response letters and other FOIA correspondence.
• Negotiate with requesters, FOIA staff, sponsors, and contractors regarding records.
• Coordinate searches for responsive documents and identify duplicates.
• Review records for responsiveness and release determinations.
• Ensure released materials do not disclose exempt information.
