Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States seeks a Level 4 Fluids Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on developing, testing, and implementing fluid and thermal systems for aerospace projects, with emphasis on safety and reliability in collaborative environments.

You will design, analyze, and validate fluid systems, build models, run experiments, and present findings to stakeholders while ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

  • Four-year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (or similar discipline)
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Solid modelling or plant modelling, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and configuration control of engineering and documentation.
  • Experience understanding fabrication and installation drawings
  • Knowledge of standard components, installation, and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, valves, fasteners, structural members, fittings, welding, etc.)
  • Experience using analysis tools specific to piping (such as: CAEPipe, Bentley AutoPipe, CEASAR, AFT Fathom/Arrow, Sinda Fluint, Simulink, etc.)
  • Knowledge of typical use, constraints, and specification offluid components typical in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams composed of multiple roles and disciplines to achieve a common goal.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and test fluid systems including pneumatic, cryogenic, thermal, and environmental control systems.
  • Develop and validate models of fluid systems using relevant software tools.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to understand system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fluid systems into aerospace vehicles.
  • Prepare technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Ensure designs comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input for continuous improvement.
