Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to own the development, validation, and refinement of test assets across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. You will collaborate with design and manufacturing to ensure scalable production testing campaigns and continuous improvements.

You will lead test procedures, support shop-floor execution, analyze data, and drive improvements in safety, reliability, and manufacturability as Terran R advances.

Qualifications

• BS degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering or related field with 2+ years of hardware testing in manufacturing.
• Proven experience authoring test procedures to build and validate mechanical, electrical and pneumatic assemblies.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with design engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to execute test procedures and lead investigations of test failures and anomalies.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing large-scale test systems and process improvements with minimal oversight.
• Expert knowledge of safety standards, common test hazards and mitigations.
• Hands-on experience in at least two of: electromechanical or pneumatic assembly, electrical/pneumatic checkouts, integrated testing, leak checking, sensor checkouts, high-voltage (320V+), high-pressure pneumatic systems, or instrumentation and sensor setup.

Responsibilities

• Own development, validation, and refinement of test assets across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to ensure production testing campaigns are efficient, reliable, and scalable.
• Provide technical leadership in workcenters, guidance on assembly and test operations, safety, tooling, and equipment alignment.
• Offer hands-on shop-floor support, address test issues, and provide upstream feedback for manufacturability and testability improvements.
• Analyze test data to evaluate assembly performance, identify discrepancies, and lead root-cause investigations.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with design, production, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure seamless testing processes.
