Job summary

Rocket Lab, headquartered in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I - Fluid Systems to lead fabrication and welding of propulsion components and drive quality improvements. You will apply advanced welding, lean manufacturing, and NDE/NDT techniques to ensure high reliability of flight hardware.

The role emphasizes collaboration across engineering, production, and quality, with opportunities to lead investigations and capital upgrades while advancing Lean Six Sigma

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience developing and introducing fabrication methods such as OTW, TIG, proof testing and cleaning.
• Experience setting up and operating a tube shop or build area.

Responsibilities

• Develop, perform, and qualify precision welding and fabrication of tubing components according to aerospace specifications.
• Utilize TIG, MIG, OTW and other welding methods to achieve structural integrity.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret and implement design specifications.
