Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, Inc. seeks an experienced Fluids and Ground Systems Engineer to design, build, and operate critical fluid systems for a growing launch-site portfolio.

You will own cradle-to-grave work from concept through live operations, including cryogenic propellants and high‑pressure gases. The role demands 7+ years in mechanical, propulsion, or fluid systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical, propulsion, or fluid systems.
• Experience designing, building, troubleshooting and/or operating complex fluid systems.
• Ability to interpret and design P&IDs.
• Experience with hazard and risk analysis tools (FMEA, FMECA, FHA, HAZOP).
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong communication to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and activate fluid systems across a global launch portfolio.
• Lead design reviews and standardize processes across sites.
• Commission ground systems and lead pad operations.
• Troubleshoot issues and support investigations.
• Write procedures for launch pad configuration and propellant handling.
• Develop maintenance strategies to maximize system availability.
