Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Systems Engineer for Department 440 to support SEAWOLF, VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA submarine programs. The role focuses on development and maintenance of unique submarine systems across the project life cycle, interfacing with NAVSEA, shipyards and contractors.

Responsibilities include requirements development, interface design, risk management, and MBSE activities while working within Agile/Waterfall environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
• 0–5 years of post-graduate engineering experience
• Current DOD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one (U.S. citizenship)

Responsibilities

• Lead system engineering activities across V-model/Agile environments
• Develop and maintain system requirements
• Design cables, connectors, and junction boxes
• Interface NAVSEA, shipyards, vendors, and EB departments
• Schedule, budgeting, and risk management
• Verify and validate requirements
• Coordinate cross-discipline reviews
• Trade studies and documentation
• Develop system-level concepts of operation
• Perform system integration and testing
