Job summary

Embraer in the United States is seeking an experienced Experimental Test Pilot to plan and execute flight test programs, conduct production flight tests, and serve as Pilot-in-Command on applicable aircraft. The role requires formal flight test training and FAA ATP or commercial certificates, extensive flight test hours, and the ability to coordinate with engineering and regulatory bodies.

You will develop test plans, analyze results, write reports, mentor junior pilots, and travel domestically

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with aero focus; emphasis on flight testing.
• Recognized Test Pilot School graduate required.

Responsibilities

• Operate test aircraft for experimental, test support, and production acceptance flights.
• Serve as subject matter expert for flight test safety, planning, and reporting.
• Develop flight test programs for modified aircraft to validate design.
• Develop flight test plans with objectives, data collection and evaluation criteria.
• Assist with hazard analyses and corrective actions for high-risk testing.
• Participate in design reviews regarding aircraft suitability for missions.
• Write technical and flight reports documenting results.
• Input for flight manuals and related documents based on results.
• Analyze and distribute flight test results; monitor FAA compliance.
• Travel domestically and internationally for certification and delivery tasks.
• Mentor other pilots and flight test engineers; PIC on applicable aircraft.
