Job summary

The Boeing Company in Oklahoma City is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Flight Test Engineer to lead test planning, data collection and analysis for flight tests across Boeing Mobility & Bomber programs. This role emphasizes safety, performance, and regulatory certification throughout flight and ground tests.

The candidate will develop test methods, calibrate sensors, and mentor others while coordinating with the enterprise test group.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with instrumentation data systems in all phases of flight test (modification, execution, and refurbishment).
• Experience with accelerometers, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, force sensors, strain gauges, position sensors and flowmeters.
• Experience with calibration methods like regression, polynomial and hysteresis.
• Understanding of mechanical design and the ability to decipher engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Leads development of standard test methods and processes; applies advanced test technologies to improve test methods.
• Writes invention disclosures to protect Boeing Intellectual Property.
• Prepares R&D proposals and presents to internal management and external customers.
• Applies emerging industry technologies to develop test procedures.
• Reviews critical procedures to identify problems and resolve issues.
• Develops innovative metrology design techniques and concepts.
• Oversees integration of new design and manufacturing techniques into test hardware/system designs.
• Analyzes processes for improvements and suggests changes.
• Develops standard policies for post-test activity.
• Resolves or oversees resolution of special test procedures.
• Works with enterprise test and engineering group to standardize evaluation techniques.
• Formulates expectations for test data for new tests.
• Trains and coaches others.
