Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Wichita, KS seeks a senior engineer to specialize in Aircraft Performance and flight test data analysis. You will work with ground and flight test data, develop new test techniques, and support flight ops through briefs and reviews.

The role requires at least 8 years of aviation engineering experience, 5+ years in flight testing (Stability & Control and Aircraft Performance preferred), and strong programming in Python/MATLAB/C/C++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in aviation.
• 5+ years of direct flight testing in aircraft stability & control.
• FAA/EASA Part 25 awareness preferred.
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C++, C#, or FORTRAN; Windows/UNIX familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Specialize in Aircraft Performance analysis.
• Analyze ground and flight test data including desktop simulations.
• Provide timely analysis of results and assist with data reviews.
• Develop flight test techniques, equipment, or processes.
• Support Flight Operations through briefs, telemetry, and safety reviews.
• Write/review test definitions and conformity reports for flight tests.
• Create flight test reports demonstrating compliance with TC/FAA/EASA.
• Produce development engineering docs for design changes in flight test.
• Support BFTC Projects Test Readiness Reviews.
