Job summary

Planet is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer to join the Flight Software Team in San Francisco, working on embedded software for Superdove and related satellites. You will lead development, verification, and on‑orbit anomaly escalation, collaborating with RF, EE, and mission control teams to deliver reliable software interfacing with hardware.

The role requires 6+ years in software design, experience with Linux, STM32, and C/C++, and a strong ability to analyze system behavior using lab

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software design and development
• Experience with Ubuntu and/or Debian Linux distributions
• Embedded C with or without an RTOS, preferably on STM32
• C/C++ application code on UNIX/Linux; Python 3/2 knowledge
• Ability to use lab equipment to investigate software and system behavior
• Bachelor's Degree in Software, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
