Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II to design, develop, and test flight software for the Blue Ring spacecraft. You will work with avionics, systems, and propulsion engineers to implement and verify software across the lifecycle, from concept through on-orbit operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
• 2+ years of professional embedded software experience.
• Proficiency with C++ in resource-constrained environments.
• Python development for tooling or scripting in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded flight software for the Blue Ring spacecraft, including hardware interface layers.
• Implement software requirements derived from system-level specifications with traceability.
• Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and HIL procedures.
• Collaborate with avionics, systems, and propulsion engineers to define software interfaces.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and peer reviews to ensure quality.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex software and HW/SW integration issues in lab/test env.
