Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer II to join the Space Systems team in Long Beach, CA. You will design and implement flight software for spacecraft, write and test code in RTOS/Embedded Linux, and develop drivers for IMUs, Star Trackers, and reaction wheels.

You will contribute to CI testing, collaborate across hardware and systems teams, and participate in PDR/CDR design reviews. This role offers competitive pay and stock options as part of total compensation.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++ languages.
• Experience with RTOS or Embedded Linux.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Develop application software to run within an RTOS and/or embedded Linux.
• Develop hardware drivers for IMUs, Star Trackers, reaction wheels and other sensors/actuators.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive unit tests to run in CI.
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop test engineers to verify hardware/software integration.
• Collaborate with systems and embedded engineers to develop and validate requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards are met.
• Participate in design reviews such as a PDR and CDR.
• Assist with on-orbit (and interplanetary) flight operations.
