Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Training Specialist within the In-Space Systems program to design, develop, and execute mission training for crewed and support teams across multiple vehicle programs.

You will lead training initiatives, coordinate with engineers and payload customers, and run simulators and rehearsals to ensure reliable mission support and operational readiness. The role requires travel and flexible hours to accommodate shifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S in engineering, education, or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in developing and executing training for mission support operators and engineers in a space oriented, military, or government environment.
  • Experience writing training course materials (lesson objectives, plans, evaluation criteria, hands-on activities).
  • Ability to travel to support training activities as needed (typically <10 per year).
  • Ability to support varied workday hours, including off-hours or shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute training for ops controllers, engineering support, AI&T, launch services operators, and payload customers for all vehicles within the In-Space System program.
  • Lead specific training areas or initiatives and take direction from senior staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure training is relevant and supports successful mission support.
  • Run the simulator and training assets for hands-on practice and rehearsals.
  • Define requirements and support development of future training simulators and assets.
  • Evaluate operator proficiency and currency for mission support; develop ad hoc training as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of operator training completion.
