Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Flight Inspector – Level 3 to join our team in Dulles, VA. This 100% onsite role involves inspecting and accepting purchased flight hardware, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring traceability in Costpoint and TIPQA.

The position requires high school diploma or equivalent with related experience, AS9100 experience, and the ability to train junior inspectors. A 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting aerospace, defense, or space hardware under AS9100 or equivalent QMS.
• Experience accepting purchased material against PO, drawing and specification.
• Experience reading drawings and performing dimensional inspection with precision tools.
• Experience writing nonconformance reports and reviewing supplier certifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and accept purchased flight hardware against PO, drawing, and specification.
• Read engineering drawings to determine inspection method, tools, and acceptance criteria.
• Review supplier documentation for completeness and accuracy before acceptance.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspection with calibrated measuring equipment.
• Write nonconformance reports and support MRB documentation.
• Complete inspection records in TIPQA and verify routing in Costpoint for audit readiness.
• Train and coach Level 1 and Level 2 inspectors; support their sign-offs.
• Resolve discrepancies with Procurement, Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Production.
