Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer to join our client, a spacecraft technology company in Los Angeles. The role focuses on flight dynamics systems integration, attitude control, guidance, and testing to support satellite missions.

Candidates will develop high-fidelity models using STK and Python, tune control laws, and work with AI&T and Avionics teams to transition designs into live operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in spacecraft flight dynamics, including attitude control and propulsion systems.
• Experience with ADCS, GNC, and spacecraft integration.
• Ability to develop high-fidelity flight dynamics models and tune control laws.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical integration and interface requirements for ADCS, propulsion, and GNC components.
• Develop high-fidelity flight dynamics models for trajectory analysis using STK and Python simulations.
• Develop and tune control laws for pointing, detumbling, and station-keeping.
• Collaborate with AI&T and Avionics teams for integration and calibration.
• Transition flight dynamics systems from design to live operations.
• Troubleshoot anomalies and support spacecraft maneuvers in flight operations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Document design processes, test results, and system performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
