Proteus Space, Inc. is seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer in Los Angeles to lead integration, simulation, testing, and real-time operations of flight dynamics for satellite builds.

This role focuses on attitude control, pointing, and seamless on-orbit performance, requiring hands-on expertise and leadership in a fast-paced spacecraft program. The position is full-time and in-office, with responsibilities spanning model development, live operations, and cross-team collaboration to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years in spacecraft flight dynamics with attitude control experience.
• Proficiency in mission design software and flight dynamics simulation tools.
• Programming experience in Python, C++, or MATLAB for modeling and integration.
• Experience working in clean room environments with ESD protocols.
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration in engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration, vendor management, interfaces and requirements for ADCS, propulsion, and GNC hardware.
• Develop high-fidelity flight dynamics models for trajectory analysis and momentum management.
• Develop and tune control laws for pointing, detumbling, and station-keeping.
• Coordinate with AI&T and Avionics teams to ensure proper hardware integration.
• Transition from design and simulation to on-console flight dynamics operations and troubleshooting.
• Document design processes, test results, and system performance.
