Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years of dispatching, shop scheduling or production planning experience in a computerized manufacturing system environment.
• Proficient in the application of MRP2 concepts.
• Knowledge of material requirements planning, capacity planning and shop floor control required.
• Knowledge of AMAPS is preferred.
• Knowledge of A.P.I.C.S. concepts/principles preferred.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing routings, travelers and blueprints.
• Ability to provide positive leadership/training in a team environment.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely movement and processing of parts on multiple programs to meet customer delivery schedules.
• Update production and inventory control system with timely, accurate information.
• Stage and coordinate work for manufacturing areas to meet schedules and utilize resources.
• Communicate with support groups to initiate corrective action for work orders on hold.
• Split work orders by generating travelers and coordinating with inspection and other groups.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts between shop and business teams.
• Troubleshoot and correct discrepancies in paperwork or system information to maintain WIP data accuracy.
• Develop and maintain daily work schedules and short-range capacity plans.
• Coordinate with other functional groups to adjust workloads to avoid bottlenecks at gateway centers.
• Participate in team meetings to achieve goals related to schedules, quality, and cost.
