Job summary

JT4, LLC is seeking a Flight Controls / Aerodynamics / Handling Qualities Engineer to support airworthiness, flight-controls integration, and aerodynamic assessment across rotary-wing, fixed-wing, and mission aircraft. You will work with test pilots, engineers, and contractors to evaluate modifications and ensure safety and performance.

The role requires significant engineering leadership, strong communication, and deep expertise in control laws, aerodynamics, and airworthiness processes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 16+ years of related experience, or PhD with 12+ years.
• Ability to direct senior technical personnel on complex systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with briefing and reporting capabilities.
• Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Support airworthiness and flight-controls integration across multiple aircraft platforms.
• Provide technical review and integration support for flight controls, aerodynamics, stability and handling qualities.
• Assess stability and control impacts of modifications and OML changes.
• Develop or review aerodynamic models, loads, and configuration databases for modified aircraft.
• Review analyses, flight-test data, and substantiation packages for airworthiness.
• Interface with test pilots, flight-test engineers, and platform contractors.
