Job summary

Otto Aerospace is seeking a senior designer to contribute to the design, development, and integration of the Flight Control Systems. You will join a team delivering the world’s most efficient aircraft.

You will own the Secondary Flight Control System design, perform trade studies, coordinate with suppliers, and define interfaces using CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE. This role begins remote with 25% travel to Ft Worth, TX, then onsite at our Jacksonville, FL site when ready.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Flight Control Systems development for Part 23/25 aircraft.
• Experience with electro-mechanically actuated systems.
• Strong knowledge of FAR Part 23 certification processes.
• Experience with RTCA DO-254, ARP4754A.
• Experience with ASME Y14.100 Drawings and Y14.5 GD&T.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and integration of the Secondary Flight Control System.
• Perform trade studies to optimize architecture, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
• Lead vendor and program coordination through certification and delivery.
• Define and validate mechanical and electrical interfaces with cross-functional teams.
• Create and manage CAD definitions and airframe integration studies using CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Support certification documentation (FTA, PSSA, SFHA, ACP).
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
