Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Fleet Technician III to serve as the technical go-to in the shop, handling advanced refurbishment on mobile storage equipment while modeling safety, quality, and productivity. You will mentor the service team and coordinate workflow to ensure on-time, within-budget repairs.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, field support, and customer communication, with travel to sites for complex repairs. A strong mechanical background and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Trade skill training preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years in construction or equipment repair.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced, multi-trade refurbishment on mobile storage equipment.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues.
• Lead and mentor service team on quality and safety.
• Document work orders and track materials.
• Coordinate workflow to maintain shop efficiency.
• Travel to customer sites for advanced repairs.
