Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks an Automotive Technician to maximize vehicle and equipment operation through preventive maintenance and skilled repair. You will diagnose, repair, and test diesel and gasoline systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and route schedules.

Responsibilities include on-site diagnosis, using diagnostic tools, and maintaining detailed work records. A CDL-B with passenger endorsement and a School Bus Inspector certificate within 12 months are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required for technician role.
• Two years basic to intermediate automotive repair experience, diesel-focused preferred.
• CDL Class B with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain within six months.
• School Bus Inspector certificate within twelve months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure road worthiness.
• Onsite diagnostics with computerized devices and repair planning.
• Road test vehicles post-service and verify repair effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate work orders and documentation.
