Job description

A well-established organization is seeking a Senior Fixed Assets Analyst to support fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure processes, and related financial operations. This position will focus on maintaining accurate asset records, supporting month-end close activities, strengthening internal controls, and identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.

The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of fixed asset accounting and experience working within a complex organizational environment. This role offers the opportunity to partner with accounting, finance, and operational teams to improve processes, resolve accounting issues, and support ongoing business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support fixed asset accounting activities, including asset additions, transfers, retirements, disposals, and depreciation.
• Oversee and coordinate month-end close activities related to fixed assets, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Maintain and review fixed asset records, asset classifications, useful lives, and depreciation schedules.
• Support capital expenditure accounting, including project cost tracking, capitalization, and settlement activities.
• Review existing fixed asset processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, IT, and other departments to resolve issues related to fixed asset transactions and reporting.
• Evaluate process improvement requests and assist with implementing changes to accounting workflows and related systems.
• Support internal controls and SOX compliance, including maintaining process documentation and assisting with audit activities.
• Assist with system testing, validation, and implementation of changes affecting fixed asset and capital project processes.
• Develop and maintain accounting procedures, process documentation, and training materials.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding fixed asset processes, accounting requirements, and procedural changes.
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to fixed assets and financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial systems, or related business process roles, with significant exposure to fixed asset accounting.
• Experience with SAP Finance (FI/CO), particularly SAP Fixed Assets (FI-AA), strongly preferred.
• Exposure to SAP Project Systems (PS) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of fixed asset accounting, depreciation, capital expenditures, asset capitalization, and related financial processes.
• Experience supporting accounting process improvements, system enhancements, or financial systems optimization.
• Knowledge of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requirements.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to evaluate business requirements and implement process improvements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
