Job summary

Chris Baily in Garden City, NY is seeking a Senior Fixed Assets Accountant to own the fixed asset function within a growing organization. You will maintain and reconcile asset records for rental fleet, vehicles, and equipment, and support month-end close.

You will lead cleanup and reconciliation efforts, review asset additions, transfers, disposals and depreciation, and partner with fleet, operations, and accounting teams to improve asset tracking and implement a new fixed asset module.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience with fixed assets, fleet, or asset-intensive accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with ERP and fixed asset or fleet management systems; Sage Intacct experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and analysis of large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records for rental fleet, vehicles, equipment, and other capital assets.
• Review asset additions, transfers, disposals, depreciation, and general ledger activity.
• Clean up historical asset data and prepare records for implementation of a new fixed asset module.
• Partner with fleet, operations, and accounting teams to improve asset tracking and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end close, fixed asset reporting, audit requests, and process improvements.
