Job summary

LHH is seeking a Fixed Asset Accounting Manager in Texas to lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for asset capitalization, depreciation, CIP, and related reconciliations.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. You will mentor staff, manage month-end closes, and drive process improvements in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, retirements, CIP, and reconciliations.
• Strong technical accounting foundation including GAAP, general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to independently research, analyze, and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Proven people leadership experience, including team management, coaching, performance evaluations, and employee development.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fixed asset accounting activities, including capitalizations, depreciation, asset retirements, CIP, and reconciliations.
• Manage and execute complex accounting transactions, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger activities in accordance with GAAP.
• Lead month-end close activities and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
• Review accounting work, resolve discrepancies, strengthen internal controls, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members through ongoing feedback, performance management, and professional development.
• Maintain accountability for team productivity, deadlines, deliverables, and overall operational performance.
