• Manage plant fund accounting and track capital project activity, funding sources, and GL activity.
• Monitor capital project budgets, expenditures, and project status to support capitalization and closeout.
• Manage construction in progress activity, review costs, balances, capitalization readiness, and closeout.
• Reconcile construction in progress balances between GL and project tracker; resolve discrepancies.
• Track and reconcile funding sources for capital projects including state appropriations, bond proceeds, grants, institutional funds.
• Provide monthly capital project reports to University departments.
• Maintain fixed asset records, ensuring capital assets are recorded accurately, completely, and in accordance with capitalization policies.
• Record additions, disposals, transfers, adjustments, impairments, write-downs, and retirements with proper documentation and approvals.
• Calculate and record depreciation with useful lives and depreciation methods.
• Reconcile the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain asset documentation, including invoices and capitalization support.
• Ensure capital expenditures comply with funding source requirements and donor restrictions.
• Support capitalization thresholds, asset classification, useful life policies, and depreciation methods.
• Maintain and update capital asset policies and procedures to support accurate accounting and internal controls.
• Support procurement and approval workflows for capital purchases to ensure proper classification and coding.
• Prepare capital asset, depreciation, construction in progress, and plant fund reports for management review and audit support.
• Prepare capital asset rollforwards, depreciation schedules, and disclosures in accordance with accounting standards.
• Support monthly and year-end close activities related to capital assets, plant funds, depreciation, CIP, and investments in plant.
• Provide auditors with asset schedules, reconciliations, rollforwards, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with university departments to track capital projects, asset purchases, project completion status, asset tagging, transfers, disposals, and placement into service
