Job summary

Talentify in San Rafael, CA is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a 1-year contract. Hybrid role with onsite work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You will manage fixed assets, CAPEX, and select OPEX accounting, collaborating with FP&A, audit, and project teams to deliver accurate close processes.

Applicants should have 5+ years in accounting, strong US GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and experience with SAP/Oracle/NetSuite. CPA-eligible is a plus; biotech/pharma experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in fixed assets/CAPEX.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, including depreciation methodologies.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with large data sets.
• Experience with a major ERP such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end fixed asset accounting: additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, depreciation.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger and alignment with general ledger.
• Perform monthly close activities: journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, variance analysis.
• Review asset classifications for consistency with US GAAP and policy.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets.
• Monitor capital project spend and capitalization vs expense with project managers.
• Assist depreciation and CAPEX forecasting for FP&A and partners.
• Maintain internal controls over fixed asset and CAPEX processes.
• Support SOX documentation, testing, and remediation activities.
