Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Fisheries (Passage) Engineer to lead fish passage and screening projects for water resources, dams and hydropower facilities. The role supports Bellevue, WA or Portland, OR with a hybrid schedule and collaboration across Energy & Resources and Water teams.

The candidate will lead technical delivery, mentor staff, and engage clients as a key technical advisor while contributing to market growth in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering; masters preferred.
• 10+ years of professional experience in fish passage and screening engineering for water resources, dams and hydropower projects.
• Existing Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and/or California professional engineer registration (P.E.) or ability to obtain all within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Technical Resource, Technical Lead and/or Engineer of Record for fish passage and screening infrastructure with leading/reviewing responsibilities.
• Provide SME and advisory leadership for fisheries infrastructure.
• Plan, organize, and manage production of project deliverables to ensure on-time delivery and within budget.
• Serve as the project's fisheries engineering technical contact with clients, agencies, and others.
• Mentor and direct developing professionals to guide their execution and career development.
• Manage and/or review team’s work and provide technical guidance on design approaches.
