Job summary

The State of Delaware invites applications for an experienced fiscal advisor to analyze financial transactions, prepare statements, and monitor funds in accordance with budgets, grants and contracts. This role may supervise paraprofessional staff and ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.

Selected candidates will support auditors, compile financial data, and deliver timely reports on financial health for planning purposes.

Qualifications

One year of experience compiling, analyzing and reporting financial data.
One year of experience ensuring compliance of financial transactions with budgets, grants or contracts and laws.
Six months' experience researching and analyzing accounting transactions to reconcile discrepancies or errors and maintain an audit trail.
Coursework, training and/or work experience in staff supervision or lead worker roles.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze financial transactions to determine accuracy and compliance with budgets, grants, or contracts.
Analyze, reconcile and consolidate data to the general ledger and maintain an audit trail.
Maintain internal controls and apply accounting principles and standards.
Provide advice and technical guidance on fiscal matters.
Prepare a variety of financial health statements and reports for planning and auditing.
