Job summary

State of Delaware is seeking a State Accountant IV to manage bi-weekly statewide payroll processing and reconciliations within the FSF system, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution to OMB. The role covers calendar year-end, fiscal year-end activities, payroll funding adjustments, and related month-end and year-end close tasks.

The incumbent provides guidance to agencies, reviews financial data, ensures compliance with laws, and interfaces with the ERP team for annual archiving and system

Qualifications

• Three years' experience analyzing financial data to guide customers and colleagues.
• Three years' experience compiling, analyzing, and reporting on financial data for funds or planning.
• Two years' experience improving financial processes or automated systems.
• Two years' experience ensuring compliance with accounting or payroll laws and procedures.
• Six months' experience in narrative report writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and recommendations to state agencies, vendors, or others in fiscal oversight.
• Review, reconcile, and approve financial data within integrated systems.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with state and federal rules and internal controls.
• Research data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and resolve process issues.
• Prepare and distribute a variety of financial reports.
