Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer in the Raleigh, NC area to advance solid-state breakers, protection, and power conversion products. You will own the full lifecycle from concept to commercialization, writing robust C/C++ for real-time embedded systems and collaborating across cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years in firmware or software development, MISRA/UL1998 experience preferred, and ability to travel up to 10-15%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; 5+ years in firmware or software development (Master's preferred).
Experience taking products from concept to commercialization in regulated or safety-critical markets.
Strong proficiency in C or C++ for microcontroller-based, real-time embedded software architectures.

Responsibilities

Specify, design and develop firmware for protection, sensing, fault detection, interruption, and control functions.
Own the product development lifecycle from concept through requirements, design, validation, certification, and commercialization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics, software, systems, and manufacturing.
