Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) seeks a System Engineer III, Firewalls, to join the Network Infrastructure and Security Engineering team, supporting MUSC's academic, research and healthcare missions.

As a subject matter expert, you will implement and manage firewall solutions, VPNs, and security policies, coordinate change activities, mentor peers, and ensure reliable, secure network operations across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years directly related experience; or a high school diploma and nine years directly related experience; or a Master’s degree and 3 years directly related experience required.
• 7+ years of Network experience is preferred; strong interpersonal, project management, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network security devices (firewalls, NAC, monitoring apps).

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert for network security services and resolve complex technical issues.
• Lead projects and provide input to improve efficiency and change management.
• Generate documentation, communications, processes, and educational plans.
• Coach and transfer knowledge to peers and staff; maintain high professional standards and customer service.
