Job summary

MUSC Health in Charleston, SC is seeking a System Engineer III, Firewalls, to support the Network Infrastructure and Security Engineering teams. The role focuses on firewall administration, patching, VPN configuration, and advanced troubleshooting to ensure secure, reliable connectivity for MUSC’s missions.

The candidate will act as SME, document change processes, and lead projects while mentoring peers. A strong background in NAC, monitoring tools, and SDWAN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with related experience, or equivalent
• Experience implementing, administering and troubleshooting network security devices (firewalls, NAC, monitoring)
• Strong interpersonal, project management, analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for network security services and resolve complex technical issues
• Document processes, communications, and plans to remove obstacles and mitigate change disruption
• Lead projects and mentor peers; ensure timely resolution of network issues and maintain high service quality
