Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Lead Firearms Instructor to serve as the on-site training manager for the FFDO program. You will lead classroom and range sessions, verify credentials, and ensure safe, compliant training for Federal Flight Deck Officers.

Responsibilities include enforcing a 1:6 instructor-to-student ratio, certifying scores, managing equipment, and maintaining SSI/SPII security compliance throughout sessions.

Qualifications

• 5 years of firearms training experience
• Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education or training
• Working conditions include indoor/outdoor gun range and handling weapons

Responsibilities

• Lead Instructors are the first contact for FFDOs, handle check-in, verify weapons and credentials.
• Conduct classroom instruction and safety briefings; ensure proper scoring and documentation.
• Maintain instructor/student ratio of 1:6; manage training supplies and custody of equipment.
• Sign and certify qualification scores for all FFDOs attempting to qualify; report security concerns.
