Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group in New York, NY is seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing-Fire Protection / Fire/Life Safety Engineer to join our team at the NYC office. You will lead design engineering, coordinate with MEP disciplines, and interface with clients, architects, vendors, and authorities.

This role requires 7–10 years of field experience in Fire Protection and Fire Alarm system design, NICET or PE credentials, and proficiency with AutoCAD-MEP and REVIT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–10 years field experience in Fire Protection and Fire Alarm design.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience and ability to lead teams.
• Knowledge of ICC, NFPA, and NYC codes; NICET or PE preferred/obtainable.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD-MEP and REVIT for designs.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering and provide system design support with MEP disciplines.
• Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and commissioning.
• Attend coordination meetings and on-site job visits.
• Produce drawings and specifications; apply codes and standards.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and support business development.
