Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical HVAC and Plumbing team in New England offices. The role involves leading design work, managing projects from concept through construction, and providing technical leadership on code-compliant solutions.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support junior staff, and travel regionally for site investigations and meetings. A PE license and MA code familiarity are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience designing fire protection systems for new and renovation projects.
• PE license or ability to obtain licensure in the U.S.
• Strong understanding of MA building codes and NE state codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design for new construction and renovation projects.
• Manage projects from concept to construction documents.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure code-compliant, constructible designs.
• Coordinate across disciplines with engineers, design professionals, clients, and vendors.
• Manage multiple priorities and project schedules to deliver quality results.
• Support client success and junior staff development.
• Participate in site investigations and project meetings across New England.
