Job summary
EXP is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design and coordination of fire protection systems for aviation, healthcare, hospitality, and large commercial projects in Florida. The role offers opportunities to serve as Engineer of Record, mentor staff, and contribute to business development and client relationships.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience, a PE license, and strong knowledge of NFPA standards and IBC/FBC.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in fire protection engineering for building projects.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
- Experience with automatic sprinkler design, standpipe systems, fire pumps, special hazard suppression, fire alarm and life safety coordination.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of fire protection systems for various building projects.
- Prepare hydraulic calculations and code analyses.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead design teams.
- Interface with AHJs, clients, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA codes and IBC/FBC; lead project quality control.
