Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of fire protection systems across aviation, hospitality, commercial, healthcare, government and institutional facilities from our Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale offices.

The role offers Engineer of Record responsibilities, mentorship of junior staff, and involvement in business development and client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
8+ years of fire protection engineering experience on building projects.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) required; PE preferred.
Experience with automatic sprinkler, standpipe, pumps and life-safety systems.
Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and IBC/FBC.
Lead design teams and coordinate with multi-disciplinary disciplines.

Responsibilities

Lead design and coordination of fire protection systems for diverse building projects.
Perform hydraulic calculations and code analyses.
Prepare drawings, specs, reports, and narratives for approvals.
Coordinate with architects, structural, MEP disciplines and AHJs.
Mentor junior engineers and review submittals and RFIs.
Support business development and client presentations; Engineer of Record capacity.
