Job summary

Our client, an engineering consulting firm, seeks a senior Fire Protection Engineer to independently lead projects from scope through final delivery. The role emphasizes design, code analysis, hazard evaluation, and commissioning across a broad project mix.

Candidates should have a PE license (or senior NICET), 6+ years in fire protection, and strong client-facing communication. Expect regional travel and home-based collaboration with occasional on-site work as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related field; fire protection preferred.
• At least 6 years of relevant fire protection experience and ability to lead projects end-to-end.
• PE License or senior NICET certification required.
• Experience in fire protection specialties (design, code analysis, hazard analysis, etc.).
• Strong client-facing communication and ability to manage expectations.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and staff; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering work from scope to final delivery with minimal supervision.
• Conduct fire protection design, analysis, and commissioning activities.
• Develop project scope, budget, and schedule with clients and stakeholders.
• Guide junior engineers and provide coaching and feedback.
• Communicate recommendations clearly and build trusted client relationships.
• Travel regionally 5–10% and support field activities as needed.
