Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our growing MEP/FP team. This role can be located anywhere in the US and offers opportunities to lead design, mentorship, and client engagement for fire protection systems across a variety of facilities.

The ideal candidate holds a P.E. license, 8+ years of fire protection experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with strong knowledge of NFPA and IBC/FBCode standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in fire protection engineering for building projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit; fire protection design software is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience with automatic sprinkler systems, standpipes, pumps and life-safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of fire protection systems for diverse building projects.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, reports, and narratives.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil teams.
• Interface with AHJs, clients, and contractors; manage submittals and RFIs.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development and client relations.
