Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer/SME to lead fire protection design for data center and mission‑critical projects. You will guide code compliance, mentor staff, and set technical standards while collaborating with clients, AHJs, and internal teams.

This role requires PE licensure and a strong background in NFPA, IBC, IFC, hydraulics, and BIM tools. We offer a hybrid work model and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering and PE license required.
• 15+ years of fire protection engineering experience with technical lead responsibilities.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection system design reviews and code analysis for data center projects.
• Develop design criteria, basis of design reports, and technical standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil and architectural disciplines.
• Interface with clients, AHJs and insurers to obtain approvals.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development efforts.
• Stay current with NFPA/IBC/IFC codes and new technologies.
