Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer/SME to lead fire protection for Data Center and mission-critical projects. You will provide technical leadership, mentor staff, and ensure design excellence across multiple programs.

Collaboration with clients, AHJs, and internal teams will shape fire protection strategies and standards. Ideal candidates bring 15+ years of fire protection experience, PE license, and strong leadership with NFPA/IBC/IFC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• PE license required.
• 15+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience as technical lead or SME.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design for Data Center and Mission Critical projects.
• Provide technical leadership for code analysis and life-safety engineering.
• Establish design criteria, basis of design, and technical standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Develop suppression concepts: water-based systems, pumps, pre-action, clean agent, and special hazards.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and support large campus master planning.
