Job summary

Village of Ruidoso seeks an experienced Fire Marshal to lead fire prevention and inspection programs, act as the fire code official, and coordinate with building officials and the Fire Chief. The role requires expertise in fire prevention, code enforcement, and investigations.

Responsibilities include developing policies, educating the public, and coordinating with state agencies for arson investigations, while maintaining compliance with local codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• MUST have ICC/IFSAK/Pro Board Fire Inspector I certification preferred.
• Fire Investigator certification preferred.
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license and insurability as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Act as Fire Code Official for the Village of Ruidoso.
• Coordinate and oversee fire prevention programs and policies.
• Inspect buildings for compliance with fire codes and perform fire investigations.
• Develop and update fire code policies, ordinances, and public education materials.
• Educate the public and department personnel on fire prevention requirements.
