Prince William County Government is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to lead fire and life safety inspections for new and existing construction. The role focuses on a wide range of systems and devices to ensure compliance with approved plans and codes.

Ideal candidates are SME in the Virginia Construction Code and NFPA standards, with strong communication and organizational skills, capable of handling multiple priorities and sensitive information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years of inspections experience in fire and life safety systems per USBC, IFC, VSFPC.
• Experience with NFPA standards and accepted practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fire and life safety systems for code compliance per USBC, IFC, VSFPC and NFPA standards.
• Serve as SME in the Virginia Construction Code and VSFPC.
• Coordinate with contractors, project managers, elected officials, businesses, and county agencies.
• Multitask, de-escalate situations, and manage expectations.
