Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. with 3 years of fire and life safety inspections experience.
• NFPA 1030 and Virginia construction code knowledge; preferred DHCD inspector; NCPCCI/ICC 3B certification.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fire and life safety systems in new and existing construction for code compliance (USBC, IFC, VSFPC).
• Serve as SME to inspectors, contractors, project managers, and county staff on fire prevention matters.
• Communicate findings, manage expectations, and maintain documentation per codes and county policies.
